The new "Hieratikon" is an exceptionally elegant, functional, and informative edition, the result of a long-term effort and in-depth study by a Special Synodal Committee, which will be a valuable aid to all clergy, based on the centuries-old practice and tradition of the Mother Church of Constantinople "...for the uniform, decorous, and impeccable performance of the holy Mysteries and Services of the day and night", as His All-Holiness Ecumenical Patriarch Bartholomew characteristically notes in his preface.
